I remember my experience with a low carb diet, it was called the ‘metabolic-typing diet’ (similar to Paleo, Primal, Atkins, Dukan) and the program recommended I avoid sweet fruits, some veggies were ok, grains were out but to load up on animal fat and protein. Organ meats were particularly desirable. So for a few months I was eating sausages for breakfast, or chicken livers, a WHOLE chicken a day ( I would put it in the slow cooker and would eat bits of flesh off the carcass all day. I felt sick, developed even more pimples than i used to, became inactive and constantly binged on high carb foods. As a result i came off the diet and binged for what seemed to be weeks and as a result got fatter than before I started!

Proponents of low carb diets want you to think you are undisciplined, they don’t want you to find out the truth of the matter – that your cells are just starving of nutrition. As a result you keep rebounding to your old eating habits and stuck in the diet merry go round. Going back and forth is a good way to reduce your metabolism & teach your body to store fat .
